Zonta International seeks to empower women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service and advocacy.
Zonta, derived from a Native-American Lakota Sioux language, means honest and trustworthy. It denotes a group of loyal, honest and trustworthy individuals. Zontians embrace these values and are inspired by the radiance of each person to empower women.
More than 31,000 members, belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 66 countries, volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta’s mission.
