Membership Chair: Anna Weselak

That every member strives to bring in one new member in the biennium and that collectively we work to raise the awareness of Zonta in our communities removing the stigma of “Zonta is the best kept secret” that holds back our recruiting efforts.

The District 6 Membership Committee promotes continuing membership growth and encourages the organization of new clubs. Members include Lt. Governor, the five Area Directors and member volunteers.

Our membership goal is to increase District 6 membership by 5% by the end of the 2014-2016 biennium. To reach this goal, we have set a sub-goal to have at least 50% of our Clubs have a NET growth of two members and no club loss. Our plan is to work on a solid approach to engaging, attracting and retaining great committed members.

Please share your success stories to  We will gather and share these stories,  membership tools and templates under District 6 Resources.

Several District 6 Clubs were recognized for membership growth at the recent ZI Convention. Joliet and Milwaukee received Gold Certificates (16 or more net growth) for their tremendous efforts. Silver Certificate (11-15 net growth) recipients were Lincoln, Beloit, and Madison. Representatives of Clubs receiving Gold or Silver Certificates were asked on stage by President Maria to be recognized. Bronze Certificate (5-10 net growth) recipients were: Springfield, Janesville, Frankfort, Mascoutah, Kankakee, and Belvidere. Congratulations to these Clubs on your growth and a big thank you to every Club for your efforts to recruit and retain members.
