Club Members Share COVID Impact on Local Non-Profits

Fall Zonta Club meetings have been very educational!  Our Program Committee is having our very own Club members who work in various local non-profits speak about how they are staying successful with supporting the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.  In October, Sarah Williams/Edgerton Community Outreach (ECO) Executive Director, shared how critical the Food Pantry is. They are challenged with budgetary needs as their Thrift Store was closed during the initial lockdown while the community needs remain.  ECO continues to use caseworkers to meet in controlled, safe ways.  In November, Jessica Lueptniz/YWCA, shared how the initial lockdown forced them to place people in need of safe shelters in local hotels.  Once the lockdown lifted, the YWCA was flooded with calls from women in need.  They were able to extend their services to include appointment-only times in addition to offering support via phone.  Guests welcomed to any Club Meeting – the first Tuesday of each month (September – June).
