The Zonta Club of Lincoln selected Katelyn Tuttle of Lincoln, Julia Beccue of Mt. Pulaski, and Katlyn Jo Helton of Middletown as recipients of the 2016-2017 Zonta Women’s Career Scholarship, an award for women accepted into or currently enrolled in a professional curriculum at an accredited institution. Scholarship winners are selected based on merit, activities, leadership, honors, and awards. Katelyn Tuttle plans to attend Heartland Community College to study Social Work and Psychology, and Julia Beccue plans to attend the University of Illinois to become a physician.
Katlyn Helton was selected as the 2017 Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Award recipient. The goal of the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Program is to encourage more young women to participate in public affairs by recognizing a commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Katlyn plans to attend Eureka College in Eureka, IL, to major in biology and eventually continue on to Medical School to become a Pediatrician.
Please join us in congratulating these young women on their outstanding accomplishments! We wish them all the best as they pursue their interests.
