Madelyn D. McGlynn Citizenship: USA District 6

As a youth empowerment speaker, Madelyn McGlynn communicates the message that kids can change the world. At the young age of 12, Madelyn began to make an impact far beyond her local community. Realizing that malaria was a leading killer in men, women, and children in Uganda, she co-founded NETwork Against Malaria (NAM), a 501(c)3 nonprofit that raises funds for the purchase and distribution of malaria nets, as well as awareness of the plight of malaria in Uganda.

The Zonta International Board will be awarding 6 Zonta Service Recognition Awards at the 2014 ZI Convention.   This is to recognize outstanding service to women in the local community.  Each club is allowed to submit two projects; one directed at reducing violence against women and a second general project.  Nominations Read more…

On October 27, 2012 the Golden Z Club of the University of Illinois held its Charter Presentation. Zonta International officially chartered the club on September 13, 2012. The club is the first Golden Z Club in District 6.
